What is Amazon Prime in a nutshell?

Amazon Prime is a set of services offered by the giant Amazon. Subscribing to Amazon Prime gives you access to Prime Video, Amazon Music or Prime Reading.

The Amazon Prime subscription also offers you many advantages such as free and fast delivery (1 working day), Prime Now delivery (in 2 hours in Paris), access to promotions and exclusive flash sales.

Prices and services?

There are two types of options available for subscription to Amazon Prime:

  1. Annual subscription at 49 € / year
  2. Monthly subscription at 5.99 € / month

Good to know: Be aware that you get a 30-day free trial before subscribing to Amazon Prime.

How many devices ?

Note that Amazon Prime subscription sharing is restricted to only 2 devices (including owner). The account holder can therefore share his subscription with a single relative, so a choice must be made!

The two Amazon Prime accounts will be quite separate, you will not have the same password and you will not have access to personal information (such as the bank card number for example).

Risks related to co-subscription and preventive actions

Don’t worry! You do not take any risk to share your Amazon Prime account since this is the platform that offers it! This is therefore absolutely legal! Your account can therefore be shared at any time with the co-subscriber you want.

How do I share my Amazon Prime account?

Please note: The co-subscriber will not have access to the Prime Video and Prime Music services. In addition, it is not possible to share your Amazon Prime account if you have an Amazon Prime Students account

Amazon Prime subscription sharing is done through the Amazon website. It is never possible to share your Amazon Prime account through the Amazon app.

If you are the proud owner of an Amazon Prime account, follow these steps if you want to share your benefits with a loved one!

  1. Log in to your Amazon
  2. In the “Account and Lists” tab, scroll down the menu and click on “Your Amazon Prime Account”
  3. At the bottom of the page, you will find a button “Share your Amazon Prime benefits”, click on it.
  4. Enter the email address and the name of the co-subscriber
  5. Finalize your sharing by clicking on the button “Send an invitation”

If you are the co-subscriber, first thank your loved one for their generosity! However, you still have a few steps to take to activate your Amazon Prime account.

You have received an email containing a link to access your Amazon Prime space.

  1. Click on this link
  2. Once on the Amazon site, log in (create an account if you don’t have one)
  3. You you will now have an Amazon Prime account, all you have to do is enjoy the various advantages of this one!

How much can I save with a shared account?

If the owner has the monthly plan, you will pay around € 3 per month, so a saving of € 36 per year.

If the owner has the annual plan, you will pay 24.50 € per year. So you will save 24.50 €, great isn’t it?

What if I no longer want to share my Amazon account?

If you decide to no longer share your Amazon Prime account, you must take the following steps:

  1. Log in to your Amazon
  2. In the “Account and Lists” tab, scroll down the menu and click on “Your Amazon Prime Account”
  3. At the bottom of the page, you will find a button ” Share your Amazon Prime benefits”, click on it.
  4. You will find the co-subscriber’s contact details
  5. Check the box next to their name or click on “Delete”
  6. The co-subscriber will no longer have an Amazon Prime account

You will therefore be the only one with the Amazon Prime account, so you will have to pay at your own expense the amount that the co-subscriber paid to continue using your Amazon Prime privileges.

How do I share the subscription fees with my co-subscribers?

Amazon Prime does not offer to split costs among members of a plan, but you can quite simply share those costs by signing up on Sharesub.
