Netflix, PrimeVideo or Disney+?

In a nutshell, all three offer a varied catalog that’s sure to please. But there are differences in price, content, original content and available options.

Netflix: from pioneer to global streaming giant

Netflix is a streaming platform known to all, whether or not they are subscribers. Its arrival has revolutionized the way we consume audiovisual content, thanks to its ever-expanding catalog of films and series. Netflix stands out in particular for its own original productions, such as “The Irishman” or “Roma”, as well as for series that have become iconic, such as “Stranger Things”, “Squid Games”, “Better Call Saul”, “The Crown”, “Lupin” or even “La Casa De Papel”.

But beware: Netflix is the most expensive service in the comparison. Its Premium plan now costs £20.99 a month, and while it used to be shareable by 4 people, the sharing conditions have changed since May 2023.

Nevertheless, despite these changes, you can still enjoy Netflix Premium from £11.05 a month with Sharesub, fees included. This is still a saving on the official price, and you get your own profile.

Amazon Prime Video: the seductive alternative

Amazon Prime Video offers a competitive alternative with a subscription at a very affordable price. As well as enjoying the privileges of Amazon’s Prime subscription, you also have access to a vast catalogue of popular series and films. Certain paid add-on channels enhance the content on offer. Since its UK launch in March 2026, HBO Max can also be added through Amazon, offering access to exclusive series such as “The Sopranos” and “Harley Quinn” and many HBO series such as “Game of Thrones” and “Chernobyl”.

However, the user interface is a little awkward, and there’s a lack of content for children. To be completed with a Disney subscription?

Disney +: a serious competitor

Disney+ has brought together all the magic of your childhood in a single platform! Find all their films, from the historic and classic to the most recent, as well as many high-quality original series. From Star Wars and Marvel to Pixar. For those looking for less child-oriented content, the “Star” section offers a credible alternative to competitors’ catalogs.

With its attractive rates, Disney+ offers excellent value for money, and will be a good choice for all fans who don’t necessarily expect new content every day.

Split between four people, its Premium plan (£14.99) even comes down to £3.75 each, thanks to the 4 possible simultaneous streams.

Which subscription to choose?

When looking for a streaming platform, there are several options to consider. Netflix is known for its vast catalog of films and series, including its own original productions that have captivated a wide audience. Amazon Prime Video offers a competitive alternative with an affordable subscription and access to a diverse range of content. While Disney+ offers a world of magic and nostalgia, with all Disney films and original series for every member of the family.

Our low-budget recommendation: Combine Amazon (from £1.85) and Disney (from £1.89) for a broad, high-quality offering that comes to less than £4.
